According to a new survey from CNN and the Opinion Research Corporation, just over half of Americans nationwide favor building the 700-mile long fence, while 47 percent oppose the idea.
What I want to know is do these people want to stop the flow of illegal immigrants into the country, but just don't think a huge fence is going to do the trick? Or are they all for letting whoever wants to steal our hard earned tax dollars? I really wish there had been more options in this poll than just do you want a border fence, yes or no.
"The American public is closely divided but the two parties are not," he said. "Fifty-eight percent of Democrats opposed a fence on the Mexican border, while 66 percent of Republicans favor one. Independents mildly favor a fence, by a 55 percent-44 percent margin."
Update:
I just went on the Journal & Courier website (Lafayette's newspaper). They had a little poll of their own going. The options (& results) of this one I like a lot better!!
