First off, I want to say that I am NOT an Obama supporter. I'm not yet sure who I will vote for in 2008 or even which party I will vote for. Nor do I know who I want on the ballot. However, I am SO sick of getting these prejudice emails about Obama. I am guessing that most of you have seen a forward like the one below:
"We all do know he is from the country of which the Bible tells us the Anti-Christ will rise from. So think about this, and pray a lot.Who is Barack Obama?" Um, Obama is from the US. "We checked this out on "snopes.com". It is factual. Check for yourself." You clearly didn't check this out on Snopes.com or else you would know this is crap. "Barack Hussein Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Barack Hussein Obama, Sr., a black MUSLIM from Nyangoma-Kogel , Kenya and Ann Dunham, a white ATHIEST from Wichita, Kansas." His mom wasn't even an Atheist. She just didn't go to church. I believe Agnostic is more the term. "Obama takes great care to conceal the fact that he is a Muslim." That is because he isn't. "He is quick to point out that, "He was once a Muslim, but that he also attended Catholic school."" He never was a Muslim OR a Catholic. "ALSO, keep in mind that when he was sworn into office he DID NOT use the Holy Bible, but instead the Koran." This is actually a different politician, Keith Ellison.
For some reason these emails just get me so fired up and annoyed. First off because of the utter lack of research these people clearly do. They get a forward, get all jacked up on fear and forward it on. If this is how you do your research on who to vote for, your voting rights should be revoked.
They also point out that his middle name is Hussein. "Oh no, that must mean that he will be just like Saddam Hussein. Eek!" Well, my husband's name is Lee, does that mean he is going to be like Lee Harvey Oswald? NO!
Ok, I am done ranting.
