Monkey See Monkey Do

*
As soon as Taryn started eating solid food, when she was done, I would put my hands up and say "Allllll done!" I was hoping that she would learn the hand gesture and be able to let me know when she was done eating. Not only did she learn the hand gesture, but she says the words too. The funny part is, she does the gesture, and she says "ahhhhhhhh dun" just like I do. She has started doing it at my mom's house and at daycare. The first time she said it at my mom's, my mom texted me and said "I swear she just said 'all done'."
Now... Taryn has started immitating EVERYTHING. She tries to immitate when I snap my fingers, but she makes the sound with her mouth. Today on the way home from daycare she made a fish face at me. When she is eating, she not only mimicks me saying "Mmmmm mmm", she purses her lips and sticks her chin out just like I do when I say it. I have noticed that she is always watching now. Picking up on every little sound and expression. (I guess this is when I need to really cut back on the swear words.)
This is one of the funniest things that she has started doing. She puts her little mini-purse on her arm and walks around with it. The entire time she is walking around with it, she holds her arm up in the air to keep the purse on her arm. I'm not sure where she got this. I really don't carry a purse all that often. And when I do, I certainly don't hold my arm up the whole time.
I've always noticed when kids make faces that their parents do and wondered if that was nature or nurture... At this point, I'm even more puzzled!
*note, we did not get to go to the Cubs game on Wednesday, but Taryn suited up anyway. Oh, and don't mind the fact that her pants are unbuttoned. She was prepping for a diaper change.

Earler this week Addie dropped her breakfast treat (nutrigrain bar) and then squealed DAMN IT!

Yep, time to watch your language pal:)

It's actually really funny when the girls imitate us. Makes us realize just all the goofy things we do. Miriam will hold the phone up to her ear and have a "conversation", and partway through, will say "hmmm??" in a really highpitched squealy voice, which I've actually now caught myself doing a couple of times (not the squealing, just the higher pitch).
