Wait, I thought Virginia Beach WAS on the eastern shore of Virginia... Well, it turns out that there is a part of Virginia that is only connected to the rest of the state by a bridge. This area is actually a peninsula that is connected to Maryland. Seems like it should be part of Maryland, but hey, I didn't draw the state lines.

So, we crossed the extremely long (24 mile!!) bridge (and 2 tunnels) to check out what was over there.

The answer... Not much. It was really pretty though.

We saw some deer at a wildlife preserve.

Walked along a very soft beach.

Looked around a tiny little town. And ate dinner at the most delicious gas station restaurant EVER.

It had something called the Crab Imperial that I just had to order. I wasn't fully sure what it was, but I figure Imperial generally indicates awesomeness. It turned out to be pretty delicious! Imperial apparently meant softshell crab mixed with some mayo and other tastiness. There were a lot of articles on the walls about the restaurant. Apparently we weren't the only ones to be impressed with the food...
All in all, it was a lovely little Sunday!
