Memorial Day & Armed Forces Day

Memorial Day (originally called Decoration Day) is a day of remembrance for those who have died while serving our country. Thank you to all those men & women who have given their lives to protect our way of life.
But, since I missed Armed Forces Day the other day (the 3rd Saturday of May), I thought I would recognize some of my favorite veterans & current members of the Armed Forces.
My Grandpa
Lee
(He hates the pic on the right. I made him do it.)
My cousin & Lee's cousins' husbands.
We have the National Guard, Army, Green Berets & Air Force represented here.
Also, Lee's grandpa, uncle & dad who I didn't readily have pics of.
Some of the great sailors I met down in Norfolk.
Nick, Nathan, Tom, Jay, Amos, Barngrover, Monte & Leif
A couple friends from high school who have spent WAY too much time in Iraq. And these guys. Who aren't exactly in the United Sates' Armed Forces... (Britian is at least an ally.) But boy were they fun to drink with at Fleet Week in NYC!

Patriotism Gives Me Goosebumps

Today at lunch I went downtown to get some stamps and a greeting card. In honor of Memorial Day on Monday, every phone pole in town (it's not a very big town) have big American flags on them. When I entered town, it gave me goosebumps!
(Sorry the picture sucks, it's with my cell phone. I tried to get a picture of a few flags in a row, but it just didn't work out.)
