I've been seeing many previews of the new Amy Poehler show "Parks & Recreation". It took me a couple of commercials before I noticed that the seal in the background of the commercial said INDIANA. Turns out they actually contacted the Lafayette parks & rec for inspiration.
Chances were good that I would watch the show, but after hearing this, I'll definitely be watching!!

Signs of Spring
There are actually TWO Dog N Suds locations around Lafayette now. I have been driving by them every time I've been in town, longing for a Coney Dog and a Rootbear. Mmmm. So, now, finally my craving can be satisfied! The weather may still say WINTER, but Dog N Suds says IT'S SPRING!

They paved paradise and put up a parkin' lot!!
While I hate that song, it appears to be true:
"Digitalized aerial surveys taken in 2005 were used to calculate the total area devoted to parking lots in Indiana's Tippecanoe County and revealed the paved lots covered an area larger than 1,000 football fields and that there were three times as many parking spaces as drivers who lived in the county, said study leader Bryan Pijanowski of Purdue University."
It really doesn't surprise me. The county has three Wal-Mart's!!
At least now I have a way to describe where I'm from other than "You know, where Purdue University is..." Now I can just say "That huge parking lot northwest of Indianapolis."
