Can you spell?

Apparently this kid can.

And where is he from? Good ol' West Lafayette, IN. Apparently there ARE still some smart kids around there...

Way to go Sameer!

Sounds like he is a bit of a comedian too:

And what did he have to say while hoisting the heavy trophy? "I'm really, really weak."

The Coleman's Are Going to Hawaii!!!

Aloha!

My mom and I just bought our plane tickets. At the end of July, we are going to visit one of my mom's oldest friends (from high school), Dawn. She runs a camp on the Big Island of Hawaii called Body Temple Bootcamp. The camp is a little bit pricey, so we are not doing that. We will be staying on the camp grounds though (for $35/night, can you beat that?), and tagging along with some of her workouts and meals. I am so pumped! Dawn eats "raw", which I don't see me enjoying. I like my steak medium, thank you. But, I'll try about anything for a week, so we'll see!

I do feel some pangs of guilt though. The dates that we are going to Hawaii happen to be over Lee's 28th birthday. He is scheduled to be out to sea, though, so I wouldn't have been able to call him or see him anyway. And, I figure he is the one that got to visit Dubai, Greece, & Italy while I was sitting in the midwest freezing my butt off.

I can't wait!

Now I just need to get my freaking camera fixed...

White Girls, Not a Security Threat

Today we are having a baby shower at work for my friend Katie. She is due June 21st with her first child. (It's a boy!) As usual, the 4 women in the office got an email to plan the baby shower. (In this case, I definitely don't mind since Katie is a friend. But, I don't understand why it is the girls' duty. Men also have children, last time I checked. And, of the people in the office, all the men have children, but two of the women don't. I got stuck with the duty once when I worked at Deloitte, and I made my co-worker Derrek go with me. Everyone in the office acted like I was crazy to have a guy go with me. Anyway, that's a separate issue.)

So, I stopped by Babies R Us in Merrillville Tuesday night. We had a pretty decent chunk of change to spend, so I wanted to get some of the big items. I went for a swing, and a large jungle play mat (which you can't quite see behind the swing in the picture). I also got a couple small things and made Rice Krispie Treats. So, as I was loading this heavy swing & awkward play mat into my car, I had a realization. How the f___ am I going to get this to work?

After talking with Mich & brainstorming, it seemed the only way was to drive in to work, stop in front of the building, drop the stuff off, THEN go park my car.

I stopped my car in front of my building, ran inside with the huge wrapped box and asked the security guy if I could leave it while I went & parked my car. He looked suspicious for a second. Looked at the box, then looked at me... Assessed whether I might be a terrorist. Apparently decided I wasn't, and had me put the box directly next to the security desk. Boy, his face would have been red if the box had been ticking! Apparently, I do not look like a terrorist.

I guess this is the same reason that they never check my receipt when I'm leaving Best Buy.

Fubar's Online Whiteboard

I was just looking at Fubar's Online Whiteboard (on the right side of my blog). This is a list of Fubar's current "love" prospects. I have to give him some credit right now for being able to keep them straight! He has a Stacie, a Stacey, a Tanya & a Tana. Talk about confusing! It's like watching the Bachelor!!!

Thank goodness there aren't any Amanda's or Amber's. Those two names really confuse him!

Mini-Celebration!

We're down to 80 days until Lee is out of the Navy!! I like to have a little celebration every 10 days. That is how I got through deployment. It seems like not too long ago that we were at 100 days! Time is going by pretty quick, and that is AWESOME!

I'm hooked on yet another show...

Click to see more on Can You Duet at CMT.com.

But this one is actually a decent show! It is called Can You Duet and it is on CMT Friday nights. I watched about 3 episodes of this show on Sunday. I guess they started out with like 1,000 people. Some were already in duos, while others were put into duos. Each episode, they sing a song and then are critiqued by the judges: Naomi Judd, Brett Manning & Aimee Mayo. Then, at the end of the show, the judges send a team home. Right now, there are 8 duos left. This includes a married couple (Joey & Rory) and a set of twins (the Coppola's). I think that a lot of you country fans could really get into this show. I need to remember to set my DVR for it tonight!!!

Weekend in Review

No pics, sorry, my camera is broken. I know, this is like my 5th camera I've gone through...

Thursday:
Originally I had planned to go to Halifax, Canada this weekend to see Lee's ship up there. However, standard Navy, they cancelled the trip last minute. So, I had to hustle and find a plane ticket to Norfolk last minute... Over Memorial Day weekend. Sounds easy, huh? I ended up having to fly from O'Hare to Norfolk via LaGuardia. DOH. O'Hare & LaGuardia are two of the WORST airports and I have to hit them both. My first flight was delayed, of course. But, I had an hour-fifteen layover, so I wasn't too concerned. I was talking to the lady next to me on the plane and she was starting to sweat making her connection. She said that at LaGuardia, between United & US Airways, you had to take a bus, and then go BACK through security. I was like "Sucks to be you." Then I discovered my 2nd flight was on US Airways as well. DOH! My 2nd flight ended up delayed too, so going back through security wasn't a problem. The only good thing about the trip down there was that I made it to McDonald's just as it was closing. Thank goodness! Once I got into Norfolk, we went back to Tom's boat (where Lee is living for the next 2 months) and had a few beers.

Friday:
We woke up and went to an early lunch at the Tacqueria across from our old apartment. Man I miss that place! (The Tacqueria, not the apartment.) Then we went to see our friend Josh's new apartment. We ended up watching the whole Bourne trilogy. Well, I napped during a lot of it. Then, we went back and got on Tom's boat and took the boat down to Kokoamo's, a bar. It is quite convenient to take your house to a bar. When we went, we had about 16 people. At the end of the night, we had about 8 people, 3 of which were passed out (2 of which were Lee & his friend Josh who know how to park the boat). Parking the boat with 3 inexperienced people (+Tom) was not the best. Especially when one of the engines got a rope wrapped around it and stopped running. UH-OH. Tom was freaking out, but, we finally got parked. Thank goodness!

Saturday:
We went down to a campground where some friends were camping. Did a little boating, ate some food, drank some beers and did some Jello shots. It was an early night, though, since we had to be up early the next day for hanggliding.

Sunday:
Lee and I got up and drove down to the Outer Banks to go hanggliding. It was awesome! You are in a harness hanging above the instructor. Then, a small ultralite plane pulls you up to 2,000 feet and cuts you loose. The instructor let me steer for awhile, then he goes "So, you like roller coasters?" Um, yeah? Then he did some "stalls", which basically made it feel like you were plummeting to your death. He also did some sharp turns which also felt like imminent death... It was cool though. And the view from up that high was amazing! I wish I could have gotten pictures! Afterwards we stopped by the Coinjock Marina for some of the best prime rib ever. So delicious. After going back home for a nap, we went and saw Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

Monday:
Lee had to go to the ship for duty at 6:30am. I slept in until 8am and then caught my direct flight back to O'Hare. Enjoyed some beautiful weather in DeMotte and caught up on chores around the house.

And what is up with the weather today? It is in the 40's and it is almost June. WTF? I was talking to Lee and he said it was in the mid-80's in Norfolk. Oh, I wore a jacket to work and was still freezing. Is it ever going to be summer????

Perhaps this is what the CTA needs...

This cat, named Tama, is a stationmaster at the Kishi Station on the Wakayama Electric Railway in Japan.

The station went unmanned in April 2006 as the line was losing money. But Tama stuck around.

She rose to national stardom in January 2007 as the railway company formally appointed her as "stationmaster".

Her appointment had an immediately positive effect, boosting the number of passengers using the line in January by 17 percent from a year earlier.

For the year to March 2007, the number of passengers rose to 2.1 million, up 10 percent from the previous 12 months, according to Yamaki.

Happy with her successful job as stationmaster, the company promoted Tama to "super-stationmaster" in January this year, making her "the only female in a managerial position" in the company's 36-strong workforce.

Judging by some of the CTA personel I've encountered, they might be better off with a cat. A litterbox & some catfood is definitely cheap... This could help out the CTA's money crunch!

Memorial Day & Armed Forces Day

Memorial Day (originally called Decoration Day) is a day of remembrance for those who have died while serving our country. Thank you to all those men & women who have given their lives to protect our way of life.
But, since I missed Armed Forces Day the other day (the 3rd Saturday of May), I thought I would recognize some of my favorite veterans & current members of the Armed Forces.
My Grandpa
Lee
(He hates the pic on the right. I made him do it.)
My cousin & Lee's cousins' husbands.
We have the National Guard, Army, Green Berets & Air Force represented here.
Also, Lee's grandpa, uncle & dad who I didn't readily have pics of.
Some of the great sailors I met down in Norfolk.
Nick, Nathan, Tom, Jay, Amos, Barngrover, Monte & Leif
A couple friends from high school who have spent WAY too much time in Iraq. And these guys. Who aren't exactly in the United Sates' Armed Forces... (Britian is at least an ally.) But boy were they fun to drink with at Fleet Week in NYC!

Patriotism Gives Me Goosebumps

Today at lunch I went downtown to get some stamps and a greeting card. In honor of Memorial Day on Monday, every phone pole in town (it's not a very big town) have big American flags on them. When I entered town, it gave me goosebumps!
(Sorry the picture sucks, it's with my cell phone. I tried to get a picture of a few flags in a row, but it just didn't work out.)

Yosuke knows what's up

He kept mum with the cops, but began chatting after a few days with the vet.

"I'm Mr. Yosuke Nakamura," the bird told the veterinarian, according to Uemura. The parrot also provided his full home address, down to the street number, and even entertained the hospital staff by singing songs.

Even McCain's friends don't want to vote for him

Nebraska Sen. Chuck Hagel, one of McCain's "good friends" is annoyed with what McCain has been saying about the Iraq war.

"I'm very upset with John with some of the things he's been saying," Hagel added. "And I can't get into the psychoanalysis of it. But I believe that John is smarter than some of the things he is saying. He is, he understands it more. John is a man who reads a lot, he's been around the world. I want him to get above that and maybe when he gets into the general election, and becomes the general election candidate he will have a higher-level discourse on these things."

Hagel, who is not running for reelection in November, has become an outspoken critic of the War in Iraq and he said in April he is open to the possibility of endorsing Obama's candidacy.

Iraq is in Indiana?

So, every now and then when I have some spare time (or I just need to stop looking at Excel for a minute), I will browse for jobs for Lee. August is right around the corner, and he'll be needing one. I think I'll be ok with him having a week of vacation, but then, I'm pretty sure I'll be pushing him to get to work.

Anyway, I was browsing for jobs around Lafayette today. I came across these:

In case you can't see it, it says "IN - Iraq (Nearby)".

Talk about some false advertising.

"Yeah, dude, I got this great job in Iraq, IN... What? It's just in Iraq? Oh, F$CK."

Bachelorette - Episode 1

Guys are weird. Last night we met 25 dudes. Some were nice, smart, & sweet. But, most were weird, awkward & made me feel uncomfortable. In the end, I think DeAnna made some good choices. Here are my cheers & jeers after episode 1. (We can compare to who I liked before the show.)

Cheers:
Jason - Jason is a single dad. He seems sweet! AND cute!
Brian W. from Texas - He is a football coach in TX. He makes grey hair look good. I thought he seemed like a nice guy!
Richard - He is a science geek, which some of us can relate to. He got one of the first impression roses and said he felt like it was redemption for all the people who made fun of him in high school. Awww.
Jeers:
Robert - The chef. He was pretty cocky about his seduction skills. And he isn't even hot.
Brian W. from Indiana - He was not getting any attention from DeAnna, so he pulled up his shirt and forced her to rub his abs. EEK! Way to make our state look like a bunch of buff molesters.
Spero - He's an actor. I couldn't stand the glasses or his personality.
Sean - I can't stand his hair. He is a martial arts master, and he kicked a lemon off of a guy's head. It flew across the room and sounded like it broke something. Great first impression... I hope you do that when a girl takes you home to meet the parents!
Patrick D. - I think he boozed it up a little too much. While he was being interviewed by DeAnna's friend Jenni, he asks her to sit on his lap and cuddle with him. Seriously? Is that the way to get a rose?
Greg - At the end of the night, Greg didn't get a rose. In response, he ripped off his shirt and howled... Um, yeah.

So, it looks like the only one from my original top 3 to remain in my favorites is Richard.

In the previews, it shows that the guys are all staying down in a bunk house, but a few of them get to come up and live with DeAnna at certain times. That'll be interesting!!! Can't wait to see how this season pans out!

Movie review - Match Point

This weekend, I watched the movie Match Point. This is a Woody Allen film. The only character I really recognized was Scarlett Johansson.

I was visiting Jamie at Ohio University (NOT Ohio State University). We had been out late the night before, then had spent the morning walking all over Athens. So, when we decided to pop in a movie, I thought it would be guaranteed nap time.

Then, it started and most the characters had British accents. I have a big problem understanding accents. Unless they are southern/redneck accents. I can understand those just fine. It usually takes me about 15 minutes to get adapted to listening to accents. I thought this is strike 2, I'm going to be asleep in 10 minutes.

The movie started a little slowly, but then, just as I was drifting off to sleep, it got really good! I barely blinked, much less fell asleep. I don't want to ruin it for anyone who wants to see it, but let's just say the main character marries into money, but never really loves his wife. He always just says "She's a very sweet girl." So, he ends up cheating on her. Then, he has to weigh his options of sticking with her & the nice wealthy lifestyle that goes with. Or leave her for his mistress.

I highly recommend it!

Stay at Home Dads

Why can I see this really happening?

Don't say Stephen Colbert didn't warn us of the dangers!!

Hubby with a unisex name... Very handy!

Having a husband named Lee can be very convenient. I can call places and just say I am Lee. Who is going to question me? "Um, this is the male spelling of the name Lee." OR "Are you a girl?" No, I'm a dude with a high voice. Thanks a-hole. In this age of every kind of sexual orientation, transgenders, etc, I don't think anyone is going to risk a lawsuit by questioning it.

Today, I called Verizon about our bill and said my name was Lauren. "I'm sorry, we can't give you any information because the account is in Lee's name." First off, this is stupid. I am annoyed that the cell phone dude just automatically put it in the man's name. I pay ALL the bills in this household, plus, I make all the calls and stuff (since I'm at a desk all day and not at sea). The woman said "Oh, Lee just needs to call and give us permission to talk to you." Yes, for a normal person, that would be easy. But, LEE is in the middle of the ocean right now. Literally, halfway between Europe & North America. She couldn't help me.

So, I just waited 10 minutes and called back. Said my name was Lee. (At first I talked with a little deeper voice than usual, but forgot halfway through the call.) The dude helped me right away. I did notice he didn't use "sir or maam" or "Mr. or Mrs." though. Thank goodness for unisex names!!!

It's 5 o'clock somewhere! In Moscow to be precise.

So, it is 9:15am, and I am already dying to crack open a beer. My exam is over, and my biggest client's report is FINALLY being sent out today.

There are some problems with that, though:
* It's 9:15am
* I still have to work until at least 3:30pm
* After work I am driving to Athens, OH. Don't want to get a DUI!

She must have thought Reuter was still on the market

Shania Twain, husband splitting up

TORONTO, Ontario (AP) -- Shania Twain and husband-producer Robert "Mutt" Lange are splitting up after 14 years of marriage.

The 42-year-old Canadian country superstar and 59-year-old Lange married in 1993 and have a 6-year-old son named Eja.

Her publicist provided no further details Thursday about the couple's breakup.

Lange and Twain, best known for her hits "Man! I Feel Like A Woman!" and "You're Still the One," recently opened a hiking trail on their property in New Zealand, fulfilling a pact designed to allay fears that wealthy foreigners were snapping up and sealing off the country's prime real estate.

Lange produced three of Twain's albums: 1995's "The Woman in Me," 1997's "Come on Over" and 2002's "Up!"

Don't forget to set your DVR for BACHELORETTE!

Premieres Monday May 19th 9/8c. DeAnna, who was ditched on the last season of the Bachelor (before London Matt) is back to look for love. And this time she's the one packing the heat (er, roses).

From looking through the bios, I am anxious to meet:

  1. Patrick C. from Chicago
  2. Richard from Binghamton, NY
  3. Ron from Kansas City, MO

I'm not that impressed with the pool of dudes. I guess DeAnna and I do not have the same taste in men!

Lady blog readers, leave me a comment with the bachelors you want to see!

These are the people that still think Obama is a Muslim...

They're called West Virginians.

My favorite parts of this:

* The black woman that called everyone a bunch of rednecks.
* The old woman that said she isn't prejudice but she won't vote for him because he's black.
* The woman that said he wasn't from America. Um, does she know that is one of the requirements to be President? She then also said he is Muslim. She's a smart one.

96th Hoosier killed in Iraq

Yesterday on the way to my exam, I heard that the 96th soldier from Indiana has been killed in Iraq:

A soldier from Knox has been killed in Iraq. The Department of Defense says 23-year-old Specialist Joseph A. Ford died Saturday in Al Asad of injuries he suffered in a vehicle accident.
The accident is under investigation. He was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 152nd Cavalry Regiment, 76th Brigade Combat Team of the Indiana
National Guard, based at New Albany.
He was the 96th Indiana military service member to have died after being sent to the Mideast for the war in Iraq.

It made me really sad. It is sad when you think of anyone getting killed, but when it is someone that is young & healthy & serving our country, it just makes it even more tragic. Plus, you just imagine that this is someone's husband & someone's son and how devastated they must be.

And then the radio station played Letters From Home. I don't think there was a dry eye in the Indiana 105.5 listening area. I know there wasn't in my car.

If you ever want to thank a member of the military...

Buy them a beer. Seriously. When we were in NYC for Fleet Week, Lee & his friends got stopped on the street a TON by people thanking them for their service. Which was really sweet. But, we REALLY liked the NYPD cop that bought us shots! (Yeah, somehow my dad & I glommed onto the free shots.)

There are also legendary stories about when the ship pulled into FL and some rich dude got Lee's friends a limo to the strip club and gave them money to spend on booze and lap dances. There was a rich New Yorker that took a few guys up in his helicopter for a tour of the city.

Or, I guess you can do this. But trust me, booze & strippers are better.

I am America...

And so can you!

I have been reading Stephen Colbert's book, "I am America (and So Can You!)" for awhile now. I usually just read a few pages at night and then fall asleep, so it is slow going. I think that Stephen is hilarious. I love his show and his book has some pretty hilarious parts too.

I just got to the chapter on Immigrants. The first paragraph had me cracking up.

Experts say there are 12 to 14 million illegal immigrants in the United States. To put that into perspective, if you took all the foreigners who have no business living in america and put them into Dodge Caravans (remember, those seat six) and drove them out of the country taking up all three lanes of a highway, the line of minivans would stretch for I don't care how long, because the more important question is: How can we get them into those vans?

Ah, Stephen, you speak to me on so many levels!

Sweet Home Chicago - Exam Center 0138

Today was my EA-2B exam. It went pretty much as expected when you've only made it through 1/2 your study manual. I realized going in my only chance of passing was for them to give us the exact same test they gave in 2007. Not likely.

Last exam sitting, I was in good ol' Richmond, VA (they don't offer actuarial exams in Norfolk). In Richmond, I was the ONLY person taking EA-2A. Yup, it was just me & the proctor. Quite a change from my years in Chi-town (one of the bigger exam locations).

Today it was SO good to be taking my exam back in Chicago. I knew EVERYONE!! My former Deloitte co-workers were making fun of me afterwards. I saw BSmith, Brendan, Griffin, Monica, Abel, Brandon (from PWC), Matt Groeller (who asked about Fubar), Janelle & Kyle. Even the people I didn't know I recognized as co-workers of my friends. Some of the people I couldn't place still looked familiar (did we makeout at a seminar or something?). It was great to be back... Where everybody knoooooows your name (Cheers theme).

Whenever people ask me how I know so many actuaries in the city, I basically say that is what happens when you are friends with lots of other actuaries... And you drink a lot.

Ploth isn't the only one!!

Today at lunch, I was with my mom, grandma, aunt & uncle. I can't remember how we got on the topic, but I said that Plothow eats a peanut butter sandwich with his chili and dips the sandwich in the chili. (I actually tried a bite of his. Not a fan.) Anyway, my gma, aunt & uncle were all like "Yeah, we do that!" My gma said it's the best with crunchy peanut butter. So, Plothow, I guess you are not the only one...

Happy Mothers Day to my MOM!

From back in the days when she wore a dress that looked like a really long man's dress shirt...

To now... She's always been the best mom I could have asked for!
And, of course, Happy Mother's Day to my grandma... And her "Bratz" doll. I'll be having lunch with my mom & grandma on Sunday. Mexican food at the Hacienda! Good choice Grandma!

And finally to my mother-in-law, Elaine. Soon her baby Lee will be home for good! I know how much she worries about him when he's gone.

And Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's that read my blog! Don't forget to call your mother on Sunday! Even if you're hungover from a toga party or something.

Who wears this stuff?

Whenever I am on MySpace, I see ads for hoochie clothes like this:

Who wears clothes like that?

And do they really need them in plus sizes?

To quote Plothow, "Did you wear that to work?"

Let's recap the stupid moves that have been made this season:

First, Ozzie gets voted out while holding the immunity idol.

Then, Jason gets voted out while holding the immunity idol.

Both stupid moves. But, last night blows them both out of the water. Erik actually gave up his individual immunity for Natalie. And then the girls voted him out. What a bunch of conniving b_tches! I don't even want any of the 4 women left to win. Seriously, they have all been so manipulative. The worst being Natalie, I think. I guess the best one left is Amanda... They totally preyed on the fact that Erik is young, a dude, and a little bit star-struck because he is such a huge fan of Survivor. That's just low...

So, adios, Erik. You will definitely be remembered as the dumbest Survivor (and as the guy with hair like a lion's mane).

Double Digits Baby!

100!!!!

We're down to 100 days left until Lee is free from the Navy. Heck, I feel like I'm getting out of the Navy too, it screws up so much of my life. Hurry up 100 days. I usually love summer and want it to last, but not this year.

Farmer Wants a Wife - the 2nd episode

The show starts out:

Lisa & Brooke are doing Bible study. Christa points out that the "ultra Christians" were the ones pulling pranks. Interesting.
The girls decide to make breakfast for Matt. While they were cooking, he was taking notice of who was talking and who was working. They started talking about what he would want his wife to do. He mentioned cooking & cleaning. Ok, maybe he's not my perfect guy.

They head off to clean some pigs for a neighbor. I forgot to mention in the last blog, when they go places, they are all in big pickup trucks. Sweet! Josie asked if they had to wear a shirt. Ugh. She better! Everyone is doing a good job cleaning the pigs except Lisa & Josie. Shocking.

When they come home, they decide to shower outside. Kanisha offers to wash Matt's back. Matt was like "Um, my back is pretty clean, actually." So awkward!

Speaking of awkward, Josie next asks Matt if he is the type of guy that wants to "test drive" a girl before he marries her. Everyone is shocked, but kind of interested in the answer. Especially since 2 of the girls are virg-o's. Commercial break during the awkward silence. Oh Josie!

Matt says he would like to wait until marriage.

The girls are outside sunbathing and Josie comes out with about 99% of her boobs hanging out of her bathing suit. I hope that Fubar is watching!

Oh, it's challenge time. This week the challenge is milking goats. Matt's looking pretty cute in some overalls, by the way. I didn't think that cute & overalls went together unless you were talking about babies or Carharts. Somehow he is working the denim overall look.

The challenge is actually milking a goat, spray painting a cow, then shoveling out a dirty stall. Josie calls Matt a SOB for making them work.

Watching the girls try and get the goats up on the milking table is pretty comical. Actually, the cow painting is pretty funny too. It comes down to Lisa & Krista. Krista shoveled the $hit the fastest and won. So, she'll be sticking around another week.

The girls are sitting around chatting. Lisa & Brooke are like "Oh, what if Matt's a virgin. Can you girls handle that?" Christa (not the one who won the challenge, the one from NYC that I like) had what might be the line of the night. She is talking about Lisa being a hypocrite because she is always talking about being a virgin yet "...every skirt that she owns almost shows her vagina." They then zoom in on her skirt... Almost showing her vagina.

Matt takes them on a group date as a reward for all their hard work. They go to play BINGO at the V.F.W. Josie sits down and says "If you aren't a republican and you don't love Bush, I can't sit with you." Then she starts asking some of the other women there how to tell which farmers are the wealthy ones.

Matt takes a break from the BINGO to let the girls get up and introduce themselves to the rest of the people there. Lisa goes into a super religious rant about death. What? This girl is weird. Josie gets up and starts out saying that she enjoys being around all the elderly people. She then goes on a tangent about the Jews, Christians & Catholics needing to form an alliance together because the world is going to end. This girl is a nut.

Matt sends the girls into the other room and asks the people in the room what they thought of the girls. The first woman said to send Lisa (ultra Christian w/ vagina skirts) home. One old guy said he wouldn't send any of them home in a dirty old man kind of way. The next couple people say Josie. No surprise there. The next girl said Lisa & Josie. I see a theme here.

They put together a special BINGO game just for the ladies. Whoever doesn't get BINGO is the one that is eliminated.... I'm so nervous.

Lisa gets BINGO and that leaves Josie. Adios Josie! Josie goes off on a tangent and demands a parting gift. She calls Matt cheap for picking flowers instead of buying flowers and asks him what he has to offer a girl besides hard work.

Time for the "alone time" date part. Matt picks Stacey. Brooke is super jealous again.

Josie is still asking for a parting gift. She has ruined two pairs of shoes and a watch since she has been here. She is refusing to leave. Her arse is parked on the front porch and she said she will not leave until Matt gives her a gift. She says they better call the cops and have them drag her off.

Now Josie is on the phone with Matt demanding a gift. She is crazy.

Stacey gets all fancied up for the date. She's showin' some major boobage. Where are they off to this time?

The girls that are left home decide to get decked out and go to a bar. And the lame non-drinkers are driving. Haha! Nice call!

Stacey & Matt's date is sitting in the back of a truck and watching a movie on the side of a barn. Matt had the projector and popcorn and flowers and candles. It was actually pretty cool.

The other girls are at the bar and Lisa & Brooke are hitting on all the old farm dudes. The girls are realizing that those two just need attention. Must be a virgin thing.

Back to the date. Stacey asks Matt if it's a problem that she ISN'T a virgin. I hope not or else he's stuck with Lisa or Brooke. Then Stacey blabs on & on & on about her exes, how nurturing she is, money, clothes, sweatpants, etc. Matt gets a little stressed out by her constant chatter.

Back at the bar, Stacey & Lisa are still hitting on lots of random guys.

And that's where the show ends...

I'm so hooked on this show. Haha! I sure hope they have enough ratings to keep it going. I don't need another "Reunion" on my hands. Although, I don't think they're spending much making this show, so I think I'll be alright.

I had a weird dream

Last night I had this really bizarre dream. In my dream I was in a mental hospital (ha ha, yeah, laugh it up). I couldn't talk at all, but I could understand people. I also had like no short term memory. In my dream, they told me to go down to the mental hospital store and get two things. When I got there I couldn't remember what they were. And I couldn't ask anyone because I couldn't talk. It was really weird. I have been concerned all day that this dream means I'm crazy.

So, I looked up a dream meaning website:

Mental Institution
To dream that you are in a mental institution, indicates a need for rest and reset your mind. You need to not be afraid to ask for help/assistance when you need it.

Phew, that is probably just from work!!

This dream was still less weird than last week when I dreamt that Neil Patrick Harris was trying to convince me to have a threesome with him and an overweight chick... It doesn't even make sense since he is gay!!

I think I watch too much tv. The mental institution could easily be from LOST and NPH is obviously from How I Met Your Mother.

Hopefully I dream about Matt from Farmer Wants a Wife tonight!!

Don't forget, the 2nd week of Farmer Wants a Wife TONIGHT!!!

Random thoughts while riding the South Shore...

Today I took the South Shore train into Chicago. I had kind of forgotten all the interesting people watching you can do on public transportation. Especially the South Shore!

~ I didn't realize that there was a third world country between Chicago & Valparaiso, IN. Wow, there are some rough houses along that track.

~ On the way into work, some women got tattled on to the conductor. Are we in 3rd grade here? Yeah, they were being a little annoying, but most people just give them a dirty look and move on. This guy actually used the button thing to call a conductor and had him go tell the ladies to keep it down. Wow.

~ On the way home from work, there was this woman in her mid-40's who was talking EXTREMELY loudly about her personal life. She had the spikey hair and funky glasses. I was sitting about 8 rows from her and still could hear every word of her conversation. I now know that she was seeing this guy and he lied to her about where he was going this weekend and it turns out he was out dancing at some club. And he likes skinny chicks and when they started dating she was skinnier, but then they started going out and eating out and she gained weight. Oh, and there is all sorts of drama surrounding their MySpace pages and what he wrote on some other girl's MySpace page. And then I got to hear all about her tattoo, the tattoo she wants to get (a Supergirl symbol) and the tattoos of almost every person she knows. Wow.

See Kathryn & Fubar...

It's a really really catchy song! (I was singing this all weekend down in Nashville.)

Sexy Can I

I want to act old again!

Just a few weeks ago, Reuter was giving me a hard time for only drinking 3 beers on a Friday night. I admit, not my best showing, but in my defense, I was coming down with the flu. Since then, I have had the following weekends:
  • *April 12th, Reut, Michelle, Stacia & Ploth visit me in DeMotte. Karaoke until the wee hours of the morning.
  • *April 19th, my cousin's wedding. A waiter was handing out bottles of champagne to each table. I sweet-talked my way into getting 2 for our table only to find that just me & my aunt were drinking champagne. We polished them off and many other 1/2 full bottles from other tables. I was considered the most sober one and had to drive my mom & I back to my grandma's. Went the wrong way and almost ended up in Ploth's home town of Peru. DOH!
  • *April 25th - 26th, NASHVILLE BABY! A 5:30am night on Friday and a 2am night on Saturday. I haven't pulled off a weekend like that in awhile.
  • *May 3rd, hit up Harry's & the Cactus with some friends back home in Lafayette. Beers are so cheap! And Jager Bombs too... Not sure what time I went home, but it was after 2am. Woke up Saturday fully clothed in my bed. Thank you beer fairy!

At this point, my liver is begging for a calm weekend. But, it doesn't look like that is going to happen for a few more weeks:

  • *May 10th, TOGA TOGA!
  • *May 16th - 17th, going to visit Jamie at Ohio University. Party it up college style for the last time. Jamie graduates in June.
  • *May 21st - 25th, hanging out with Lee in Halifax, NS. Can't wait!!

Oh yeah, and I don't have a prayer for my EA2B exam. Work has been nuts and I've only gotten about 50 hours of studying in.

If you ever wondered what Lee does out at sea...

You get to see Lee a couple times in the video, although it is hard to tell who is who since it is dark out and they are all wearing the same thing. Anyway, at one point they do a close-up of him yelling. Check it out!
